Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeper to support a UHNW private household. This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional standards, discretion, and a proactive approach to maintaining a beautifully presented home. The ideal candidate will have prior experience within private households and a strong understanding of caring for fine furnishings, antiques, and high-value items. Basic cooking skills would be advantageous but are not essential.

This is a lovely opportunity to work with a truly special client – they run a small but welcoming team, and are known for taking excellent care of staff members and promoting from within when possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas of the residence are maintained to impeccable standards on a daily basis
• Maintain all bedrooms, ensuring they are clean, tidy, and beds are made to a high standard
• Clean and maintain all bathrooms and guest facilities, ensuring excellent hygiene standards at all times
• Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of staff areas and facilities
• Care for and clean antique furniture, artwork, and delicate finishes using appropriate methods
• Polish and maintain silverware and brass as required
• Identify and report any maintenance issues or items requiring specialist attention
• Manage laundry for clothing, linens, and household items
• Ensure proper care, handling, and storage of garments and fabrics
• Monitor and manage cleaning supplies, maintaining stock levels and reporting requirements
• Maintain and care for all housekeeping equipment, reporting any faults
• Assist with table service when the principals are entertaining
• Support with occasional errands for the household
• Work collaboratively with the House Manager and wider household team
• Liaise with contractors, visitors, and external service providers as required
• Maintain awareness of household security procedures, including alarm systems
• Ensure the property is never left unattended, coordinating with the team during leave periods
• Support the upkeep of additional properties including a London residence when required
• Provide occasional weekend and Bank Holiday support when the principals are in residence (with time off in lieu)
